Artist Saliha Al-Masry is inspired by the sacred stola vessels of Salah Taher
As part of the activities of the Ministry of Culture, the Egyptian Opera House, headed by Dr. Lamia Zayed, hosts an exhibition entitled "Stola" by the plastic artist Dr. Saliha Al-Masry. It opens at 6 pm on Tuesday, February 18, and continues until Thursday, February 27, in the Salah Taher Hall.
The exhibition includes 26 works ranging from murals and pottery executed using engraving and burning techniques. It is considered the second link in the series of Keramos exhibitions that the artist started in January of last year to produce creative pieces inspired by the sacred "Stioula" vessels of the ancient Egyptians, characterized by mystery and linked to the other world and eternal waters. Its names were mentioned in the texts of the pyramids, the texts of the coffins, and the inscriptions of offering sacrifices, among others, by adapting the effects of smoke after choosing the design. It is noteworthy that Dr. Saliha Al-Masry graduated from the Faculty of Art Education, Helwan University, and obtained a master's degree in criticism and artistic appreciation in 2011 and a doctorate in philosophy specializing in criticism and artistic appreciation in 2020. She participated in many art exhibitions, including the first international exhibition of the artist's book at the Alexandria Library, Youth Salon courses, and a solo exhibition at the Egyptian Opera House in 2024. She has several critical studies and articles, and has received many awards and certificates of appreciation. She has collections inside and outside Egypt.
