Dr. Walid Qanoush, Head of the Fine Arts Sector, will open an exhibition by the artist Amani Fawzi, Professor at the Faculty of Art Education at Helwan University, under the title “Still”, at six o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, February 13, in the Bab Selim Hall at the Art Museum. In a speech by the artist about her exhibition, she was guided by a quote by the Lebanese poet Gibran Khalil Gibran, in which he says: “The silence of stillness, let your heart listen to the secrets of the moving world. There, you will find existence.”
Dr. Amani Fawzi presents sculptures that embody static and movement in multiple media. The symbolism is embodied in a silent symphony. It evokes a contradictory sense of stillness. The characters dialogue in moments of contemplation. It captures the essence of human feelings, highlighting the nuances of expression. The interaction inherent in the structure. Sculpture, light and shadow... connecting with the silent narratives of each character... dynamic energy in the midst of calm... also maintaining a balance that excites the imagination... while having the ability to seamlessly merge opposites and create a harmony that reflects the poetry of movement... the essence of pausing in stillness.
