The “Art of Resin” Club organized a training course
The “Art of Resin” Club organized a training course and workshop for its pioneers in the presence of a number of resin art enthusiasts at the club’s headquarters in Riyadh. The workshop presented by the trainer to the trainer Areej Al-Qahtani began by presenting an idea about “The Art of Resin”, in which she indicated that it is the art of combining a liquid chemical substance called epoxy resin. With colored dyes, and a group of other artistic and creative additions to form a work of art in different styles and many uses, after the mixture solidifies and chemical reactions occur, a solid, transparent plastic material is created with a specific shape based on the mold in which it is placed. At the beginning of the workshop, Al-Qahtani added to the participants that “the art of resin” is one of the handmade arts that is used to create works of art and pieces that are unique and useful for use at the same time. Given the use of a certain chemical substance, attention must be paid to the other materials used with it. Because resin is not compatible with all materials and elements, but it is compatible with metals, woods, stones, and flowers. As for colors, dry acrylic colors and oil paints can be used, and prints and pictures can be used and combined with artworks made of resin. Then the trainer touched on some of the tools used. In this art, the most important materials are resin, liquid dyes, and others. Among the tools, the trainer discussed the uses of “resin art.” She said: The most important of them is that “resin art” can be used to transform wooden pieces and wooden furniture into unique pieces of art. Epoxy resin is a solid material and can be combined with wood and dyes to create artistic paintings and distinctive pieces. Resin can be used In making protective coatings for photographs, the resin is compatible with dried inks and can thus protect photographs from fading caused by ultraviolet rays.
During the training course and workshop, light was shed on the most prominent aspects related to this art, and the workshop participants discussed the concepts and methodologies of this art, in addition to the important role that this art plays in enhancing the quality of life.
