Villa Azad is proud to present From Brass to Steel, a sweeping exhibition by Egyptian artist Fathi Afifi. Known for his raw, rhythmic brushwork and bold palette, Afifi captures the human condition in motion, musicians, dancers, workers—each immersed in a world of labor and celebration.
No hierarchy exists between sound and sweat, between the trumpet and the hammer. In Afifi’s world, brass becomes a symbol of life’s vibrancy, and steel a testament to its weight. Together, they shape a visual language of resilience, pride, and presence.
