Ubuntu Gallery, Zamalek Opening Day: October 28, 2026 Ubuntu Gallery, Zamalek Hany El-Sayed Crawling on the Earth Opening: Wednesday, October 28, 7:00 PM at @ubuntuartgallery The exhibition runs until November 24; open daily except Fridays.
"Crawling on the Earth" is a journey that has spanned ten years and continues to unfold—a journey shaped by the friendship between Ali Zaraei and Hany El-Sayed, who belongs to a family of nomadic Bedouins in the Egyptian Delta. This exhibition serves as a meditation on a life defined by perpetual migration and constant movement.
The images move in sync with the daily, ordinary rhythms of nomadic life. We follow the slow, measured steps of a donkey; we feel the harshness and heat of the tents; we traverse long, exhausting roads that gradually transform as cities expand. We also witness the intimate and complex bond shared with animals. The exhibition seeks to explore what it means to belong to temporary lands, reflecting on our relationship with the road—with imagination and the act of "crawling"—not merely as physical movement, but as a form of resistance and a means to endure.
With Hany, we move, following something as unstable and uncertain as the earth itself. www.ubuntuartgallery.com info@ubuntuartgallery.com +201002792223 +20227376753
