Falak Gallery witnessed the opening of the "Home" exhibition by the plastic artist Reem Gamal Abdel Nasser, at 7 pm on Monday, September 9, 2024.
In a word about the exhibition, Reem says: "We have always gone and traveled from place to place.. from country to country with our bodies.. we met and encountered many.. perhaps we were happy, laughed, played and life took us.. but if we do this, it is a leap from the depths of our souls that return, no matter how far away, to their home and its warmth."

She added: "Perhaps this house is the home with its familiar details to our minds and hearts when we remember it, we remember our holidays, games and stories that our father told us.. We remember the cheerful spring colors of the Eid dress that our mother chose and wove for us.. The house is the warmth that we feel whenever we remember the smell of the grass and flowers of its garden.. and the trees that we climbed and touched its red roses and rode around them on bikes as if we were flying to other worlds together..

A summer air that caressed our souls and made us happy.

In a cold winter, the woolen dress that my mother braided for us over months warmed it.. and the drops of dew caress the leaves. Every morning we hear the radio singing (How sweet is the morning, how sweet is the sun).

She continues: "The house is my grandmother and her old, generous house that is open to everyone. It is the sound of my mother and grandmother chatting in the evening. It is the smell of the coffee that my grandmother prepares or the smell of my mother's baked goods. Life in my paintings emanates from this house.
