The Ziad Bakir Hall at the Cairo Opera House is hosting an exhibition entitled “Like an Old Argoun” by artist Dr. Mona Al-Sayyad. It opens at six in the evening on Wednesday, May 8, and continues until Thursday, May 16. The exhibition includes 40 paintings executed with a variety of materials, including oil colors on canvas, gold leaf, and colored pencils, inspired by the sciences of astronomy, planets, the sun, and the moon. It deals with the stages of the moon’s development through curvy, circular, and curved lines that suggest movement, permanence, and continuity. It is noteworthy that the artist Mona Al-Sayyad holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Helwan University, a Doctorate in Design Philosophy, and a member of the Fine Artists Syndicate. She participated in many group art exhibitions inside and outside Egypt, including the Sharm El-Sheikh International Biennale, and this is her fifth exhibition during the current year.
