For emerging visual artists!

Your opportunity to join a fully-funded arts residency that welcomes local and international artists and creators to investigate the role of the Internet in shaping identity and crafting it from the perspective of the Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage under the guidance of curators, art experts and professionals.

Misk Arts Residency programs seek to support the development and practice of the arts, and enhance opportunities for cultural exchange between artists, the local community, and the global cultural scene. Therefore, “Establishing a Space” aims to develop the art sector by providing opportunities and spaces that help facilitate dialogue, research, and experiments on topics of interest to the local community.

Over the past two decades, the Internet has become a powerful tool for self-expression, but we need to know the digital impact on the cultural context, and how we interact with cultural and social values and traditions through it.

We invite you to register for the seventh edition of the Space to Work on Art Projects over a period of three months, where participating artists will be asked to highlight the use of digital media to reinterpret and reimagine traditional forms.

In cooperation with an art curator and professional mentors who are experts in their fields, the Misk Art Institute opens its doors to enable ten Saudi artists and two writers to discuss the potential transformations that may shape the next world, and raise more questions about them in an artistic context in the local residency program “Residence Space” in its seventh session.
The program includes:

Weekly counseling sessions

Sessions with curators

Specialized training courses

Workshops and lectures

Weekly meetings

Cultural trips within the city of Riyadh

Communicating with visitors and those interested in the arts during specific hours

Professional networking sessions

Consulting sessions with internal and external collaborators

By participating as an artist or writer in the residency program you will receive:

Who is this residence intended for?

In its seventh edition, the residency program welcomes ten artists and writers from all artistic disciplines who meet one or more of the following criteria:

More than three years of experience in visual arts

Experience of more than three years in business offering areas

Visual arts practitioners
