Artist Biography:
Abdelrahman Mahmoud Ahmed is an Egyptian artist born in Alexandria in 1994. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University, specializing in painting, in 2019. Following his graduation, he embarked on a vibrant artistic journey, participating in local exhibitions such as **Agenda** for several editions and **Awel Marra** at the Bibliotheca Alexandria in 2019. He has also showcased his work at the DAI Festival (5th edition) and the Youth Salon (29th and 30th editions), winning the Salon's Prize Award at the 34th edition in drawing for his remarkable contributions.
In his thought-provoking work, Abdelrahman Mahmoud Ahmed invites us to contemplate the haunting nature of our past. He eloquently reflects, "If the past is a black hole, it exists and does not stop swallowing time, events, people—good and bad, love and hate. Even our past and present versions as a reality, like a bridge that will collapse as soon as we cross it. It is fair to admit that today we will disappear tomorrow as soon as we wake up in the morning and start trying to ignore it or feel ashamed of not being who we used to be. When we are alone, we begin that eternal struggle with the natives."
