Within the framework of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture’s plan to celebrate International Women’s Day, the Fine Arts Sector, under the patronage of Professor Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, is organizing an exhibition entitled “Not Yet..!” It will be opened by Professor Dr. Walid Qanoush, Head of the Sector, in the presence of a group of artists, at six in the evening on Thursday, February 22, at the Mahmoud Mukhtar Cultural Center.
Dr. stated: Walid Qanoush.. “Hosting the exhibition” is coming “Not Yet..!” “Within the program of the Ministry of Culture - Fine Arts Sector to celebrate International Women’s Day and within the implementation of the Ministry’s strategy in strengthening the principles of caring for Egyptian women as an important supporter alongside men in leading the wheel of development and enhancing the process of achievements in all fields of work and fields of development... The exhibition is also considered a rich case.” Of beauty, thought, topics and issues, in addition to being an opportunity to express the appreciation, equality and respect that women deserve... On this occasion, we celebrate every woman who has made creative, inspiring contributions with her effort and creativity and has accomplished impressive and honorable achievements at all levels.”
Regarding the offer, Dr. said: Zainab Nour (exhibition curator)... “The exhibition is divided into two parts, the first in the large hall “Isis”, where the works of artists who have traveled long distances and acquired refined experiences, whether in the world of artistic professionalism or in life experiences, despite these different distances, and in these works we sense a great value. There is a great deal of awareness and knowledge of women’s issues in all their diverse topics, and the artist/artist’s deep wisdom on the inside of matters and anticipating the future also looms on the horizon... without giving up the spirit of confrontation and without abandoning criticism that may be harsh, even if it is hidden... on sensitive women’s issues. And the diversity in society... especially the eastern
As for the other section of the exhibition in the “Nahdet Misr” hall, it includes a large group of young works full of boldness and a spirit of challenge that may appear clearly in the eyes of the characters and the intensity of the visual language of the works, as if they are actually speaking about what is on the minds of these young people - especially young women - and the difficulties and hardships they are experiencing. Issues that come to be crucial when they are in the prime of life, whether humanly or artistically.. This, and includes the exhibition “Not Yet..!” In the Mahmoud Mukhtar Museum, in its two halls, there is a collection of sculptural works that address many women’s issues by female artists whose trends and experiences varied, and it is a collection that enriches the general philosophy of the exhibition artistically, visually, and humanely.”
The exhibition continues until March 9, 2024
