The cities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from an artistic perspective, reflecting their environment and civilization! Since its launch in 1985, the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall has embraced the creative community, carrying the banner of art and culture through its revival of art exhibitions and cultural programs that have empowered and produced a generation of creative artists who have emerged in the local and international art scene. Based on this role and the impact that the hall has had on the artistic and creative community, the Misk Art Institute invites beginners, emerging and professional Saudi artists working in various artistic media to participate in the second edition of the Summer Exhibition in 2024 to provide an artistic and visual experience based on the institute’s slogan for this year: media and technology with a focus On a specific thematic context about the cities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the development of their urban and natural landscapes, the intersection between public and private spaces and their changing nature, and the multifaceted relationship between people and the cities they inhabit. Submitted entries must revolve around one of the following topics: The built environment, landscape, and how urban development has shaped cities. Public and private space, revealing the human interaction between public and private spaces and the cultural and social impact of this interaction The human relationship with the city and the interpretation of the human narrative in the urban environment Who can participate in the exhibition? It targets Saudi artists and residents of the Kingdom at various levels, and those working in audio-visual and digital artistic media, provided that they meet the following conditions: The applicant must be over 21 years old The submitted works must fall within the following categories Participation must be individual Note: Misk Art Institute receives all entries from all levels and experiences. Submitted artworks must meet the following criteria: Submitted works must contain technology media such as photography, video, or other digital elements. The submitted works must not exceed 3 works The submitted works must be original and the applicant fully owns the rights to them Artworks must be shippable The following criteria must be taken into account when submitting works: Composing and designing the artwork Innovation in idea and implementation To suit the audience The work should reflect the artist’s skill and creativity in using different artistic techniques What do applicants get? Display artwork in a creative space and professional art environment Communicate with professional artists from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Displaying works alongside various works from different artistic categories What does the Misk Art Institute cover? The costs of shipping the nominated works to the city of Riyadh and returning them to the artist Installation of works in the exhibition hall Note: The artworks will remain under the ownership of the artists and will be returned to them after the exhibition ends.
