Diriyah

Diriyah is home to the kings and heroes of Saudi Arabia, just minutes away from the capital, Riyadh. Diriyah is located just minutes away from the capital, Riyadh. It was established in the year 1446 AD on the banks of Wadi Hanifa, surrounded by fertile agricultural land. In parallel with the growth and development of the communities surrounding Wadi Hanifa, Diriyah witnessed further prosperity to become a central gathering point in the Najd region, as a result of the tireless efforts led by Muhammad ibn Saud and Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. Between 1744 and 1818 AD, Diriyah became the first capital of the kingdom and was known as the 'Al-Turaif District'.
