Generations Continuity" Al-Jabali and Qandeel in the Afak Hall .. Next Monday Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanou, Minister of Culture, Afak Hall inaugurates its new artistic season with the "Generations Continuity" exhibition, which will be inaugurated by Dr. Walid Qanoush, Head of the Fine Arts Sector, on Monday, October 14, at 6 pm, in the presence of a group of artists. The exhibition is organized by artist Tamer Assem. Dr. Walid Qanoush stated .. The "Generations Continuity" exhibition is one of the ideas through which the sector seeks to renew the artistic content presented in Afak Hall with its value and importance as one of the largest variable exhibition halls, which will give this presentation of the idea of generations' communication a deeper and wider space. In order to achieve this variable in the content of the hall's events agenda and to ensure that the highest level of presentation and display is provided, the sector has resorted to assigning each show to an experienced commissioner who is able to provide the desired level. Thus, we aim for this hall to enjoy vitality, ideas and renewed visions with each show. Qanoush added .. This presentation is important To understand the importance of the first actual embodiment of the idea through this important presentation that will include the works of one of the icons of the art of engraving and its sheikhs, Dr. Hussein Al-Jabali, accompanied by one of his brilliant students, Dr. Sayed Qandil, we present them as a model for the role of the teacher and role model, and the sincerity of the one who learns from him to be worthy of carrying the banner and completing the journey of creativity and giving, which Dr. Sayed Qandil achieved with all merit. An exciting upcoming presentation based on the preparation and equipment for it by the artist Tamer Asem, who was chosen as its commissioner, and we hope that the idea will achieve its research and aesthetic goals at the same time. The artist Hussein El-Gebali (May 18, 1934 - January 18, 2014) is one of the elders and figures of the art of engraving. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo in (1958), the Higher Institute of Art Education in Cairo in (1959), and the Urbino Academy - Italy in (1976). He obtained training grants in Holland and America, where he specialized in the art of lithographic printing. He became the head of the Syndicate of Fine Artists in the nineties, and the head of the Contemporary Engraving Art Association and the National Association for Fine Arts. He taught at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo since his graduation, and at the Faculties of Fine Arts in Alexandria, Minya, the Leonardo da Vinci Institute, and the Higher Institute of Applied Arts in October. The artist El-Gebali received many international and national awards and participated in the Egyptian, Arab, and international art movement since his graduation. As for the artist Sayed Qandil.. Bachelor of Fine Arts, Graphics Department, Printed Designs Division, Helwan University 1990, PhD in Fine Arts (Ancient African and Germanic Roots and Their Impact on German Expressionism) 1998, and during his career he held many important positions, the last of which was Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University 2018, then President of the University in 2022, and has collections in the Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of the Faculties of Fine Arts in Zamalek and Minya and collections with individuals in Arab and foreign countries.
