From the heart of ancient Tunis... where the alleyways are fragrant with jasmine blossoms and the pulse of artisans, and the walls and domes speak of centuries of history.
Tunisia pulsates anew with art, opening its doors to creators from around the world in an exceptional international cultural event that celebrates beauty, makes creativity a language of dialogue, and culture a bridge of communication between peoples.
Believing that culture is a fundamental pillar for building societies, and that the arts represent a universal human language that transcends borders and fosters dialogue and understanding among peoples, the Association for Cultural Development (ADCM) is pleased to invite artists, researchers, academics, intellectuals, and art enthusiasts to participate in the 6th International Arts Forum, which will be held from September 3rd to 7th, 2026, in Sidi Bou Said, La Marsa (the old city), and the Northern Urban Center. The forum's theme is: "Art and Cultural Tourism in the Face of Contemporary Social Transformations: Towards Cultural Innovation and Sustainable Development." This edition comes at a time when the world is witnessing rapid social, cultural, and digital transformations, necessitating a rethinking of the role of culture and the arts as drivers of innovation, tools for strengthening social cohesion, protecting heritage, supporting the creative economy, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. The forum stems from a firm conviction that investing in culture is not an intellectual luxury, but rather an investment in humanity and its capacity for creativity, innovation, and building a more just, peaceful, and sustainable future.
This international event also aligns with the national vision of valuing cultural and civilizational heritage and enhancing Tunisia's position as a leading destination for cultural tourism, in preparation for Tunis being named the Arab Tourism Capital 2027, reflecting the richness of its history, the diversity of its heritage, and the vibrancy of its cultural scene.
The forum represents an international platform for cultural dialogue and intellectual exchange, where diverse artistic experiences converge and perspectives intersect on issues of identity, innovation, digital transformation, cultural entrepreneurship, arts education, and social inclusion, in order to formulate new visions that place culture at the heart of development.
The program will include international visual arts exhibitions, creative and training workshops, an artist residence, scholarly seminars, roundtables, artistic and cultural performances, and spaces for networking and building partnerships between cultural institutions, universities, and international organizations, contributing to the development of cultural cooperation at the national and international levels.
The forum affirms its commitment to the principles of cultural diversity, respect for tangible and intangible heritage, encouragement of innovation, empowerment of youth and women, support for artists, promotion of the participation of people with disabilities, and the consolidation of the values of dialogue and tolerance.
From this perspective, the forum invites all artists, creators, researchers, cultural institutions, universities, international organizations, public and private bodies, media outlets, and development partners to engage in this international cultural project and contribute to building a space for dialogue, creativity, and cooperation. This space will make art a force for positive change, culture a driver of sustainable development, and Tunisia a global platform for creativity and intercultural exchange.
The forum aims to reaffirm that culture is not merely a memory of the past, but also a vision for the future, and that art remains the most powerful human language for building societies. Art is a language that unites peoples, culture is a path to development, and creativity is a bridge to a more humane and sustainable future.
